The PROBLEM:
Over time as the gas to fluid ratio changes in a well and a plunger application that was successful may start having problems with no arrival or after flow times have to be reduced to keep the plunger running which usually results in lower fluid production and less gas sales.
The SOLUTION:
The Titan compressors ability to handle a wide range of suction and discharge pressures makes it the perfect compressor for Plunger lift assist applications. The Titan can utilize injection gas that comes from the well through your surface equipment so that no buyback gas is needed.
The plunger lift assist is a simple system that operates as needed to either go to sales or “to chase” the plunger to the surface by injecting down the casing until the plunger arrives and then all gas is directed back to sales.
How it works:
The plunger cycle begins as normal with most of the head gas going down the line and then when tubing pressure is almost down to line pressure the B valve option trips. The set point is based on the time it takes for the head pressure and line pressure to “almost equalize.” Unlike the normal B valve options that would vent gas to a tank this B valve option controls a valve on our compressor that diverts all the gas from sales to go down the casing. Injection Gas begins to chase the plunger to the surface. If no B valve option is available a pressure pilot is used to control the valve that directs all gas to sales or injection. In the B valve option, the arrival of the plunger would trip the control box and the valve on the discharge of our compressor would now open and all gas would go to sales. In the pressure pilot application, the pressure increases on the tubing that follows the arrival of the plunger would cause the valve to change positions and gas would be directed to sales.
With the Titans high discharge pressure of 450 PSIG, this is a simple solution to older wells that no longer have the gas to fluid ratio to continuously lift a plunger. A simple system that is set up right for success.
